Aurora 4X is a great idea but the interface is so horrible that its not really worth playing. Its also ridiculously unstable and when I played It crashed with every other button pressed some times. mosshadow95 , Jan 7, 2016 A couple of people have mentioned over the past year or two that they wouldn't mind being able to play Aurora in a lower resolution. The problem seems to be the height of the windows rather than the width, primarily because the resolution of Aurora is based on my old secondary monitor, which happened to be 1280 x 1024.

Aurora is a game that Steve wrote primarily for his own enjoyment, and is provided free and "as-is". Steve feels no obligation to make changes when he feels that reasonable workarounds are present, nor is gaining a large user base for Aurora one of his primary goals.

So, Aurora 4x is more or less stagnating while the developer re-writes/ports it over to C#. A long needed change. However, I'm curious if any of you have some alternatives that you know of? Is this game deeper then other space 4X games? Like Stellaris and distant worlds. I have played both but now looking for something more complex or deeper more immersive so to speak. but in Aurora 4x, individual missiles classes are designed (and produced) with about the level of detail Stellaris grants to entire ships.
