The data reached an all-time high of 121.300 May1970=100 in Jan 1974 and a record low of 47.000 May1970=100 in Sep 2001. The trade-weighted dollar index was the first index created to track the value of the U.S. dollar against other major currencies across the globe. It is a weighted average of the value of the dollar against the currencies of a broad group of major U.S. trading partners. The trade-weighted index (TWI) for the Australian dollar is an indicator of movements in the average value of the Australian dollar against the currencies of our trading partners.
